Thinking of leading a walk?

Share your walk proposal (date and location) and any recce plans on the Walk Leaders FB Group so we avoid doubling up in the same area unintentionally.

You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) who will supply you with a template to get the walk published on our website.  If you are a regular walk leader with the group we can also add you to the Ramblers Group Walks and Events Manager as a "Contributor", enabling you to add your own walk descriptions into the system.

Remember to state if there is a restriction on numbers and whether pre-booking is required to reserve a place on the walk.  Check the Walk Leaders FB Group for any other requirements.

Don't forget to destroy any registration forms.

Thinking of becoming a walk leader?

Please let our Walks Co-ordinator know!   Guidance and support is available, including map/navigation training if required.  We also have a selection of local maps available to borrow.

We have a private group on FaceBook where walk leaders are strongly encouraged to disclose recce plans and provisionally book dates for planned walks etc.  This will ensure there is Ramblers insurance cover for the recce as well as the walk itself.

NB. To lead a walk for the group you must be registered as a Walk Leader / Volunteer on the Ramblers Assemble system.  Check with the Walks Co-ordinator if you're not sure

You must also send the Walks Co-ordinator a GDPR consent form for your name/email/phone to be published on the walk system (and shown on this website).
