Hampshire 40+ Walking Group is a Ramblers-affiliated group with members from all over the county (and a few just outside). We love the great outdoors, walking, socialising but above all having fun!
PLEASE NOTE: Our name may be “40+” but we do welcome walkers of all ages. The name is just to distinguish us from other groups in Hampshire. ALL ARE WELCOME- JUST TURN UP ON A WALK- YOU DON’T NEED TO PRE-BOOK
Please come and introduce yourself on one of the walks or if you have questions please email firstname.lastname@example.org
PLEASE REMEMBER: as a group we rely on volunteers. Nothing can happen, whether it’s a walk or trip away, Christmas party or other social activity, without someone volunteering to organise it. Please don’t just wait for others.
If you think the programme is a little thin, and you’ve been a member for a while, why don’t YOU consider putting a walk on yourself? -(or organising a social event or trip away)
Not led a walk, but wondering what’s involved? Existing walk leaders are always happy to show you the ropes. Just ask one of them on a walk.
ANY COMMENTS OR QUESTIONS? See a Committee member on one of the walks- at least one of us will be around. Click here to see who is on the Committee.
Alternatively, click here to send an email to the Committee. If the link doesn’t work, open your email box and send an email to email@example.com
Do you have in mind a walk that you would like to lead? (You must be a member) Email our Walk Co-ordinator (firstname.lastname@example.org) who will supply you with a template to get the walk published on our website
Just led a walk? Please let the Membership Secretary (email@example.com) know who came
See our Facebook Group for walk pictures
There are a lot of activities throughout the year, aside from the regular weekend (and occasional midweek) walks both in and around the county there are several social meet-ups and exciting trips away to all corners of Britain and beyond. Our Walks & Events page lists all the imminent events. A wide variety of abilities is catered for, from leisurely strolls for beginners to more energetic longer walks over The South Downs, for example.
A list of our walks open to all members of Ramblers Groups is also available on the Ramblers website: Hampshire 40+ walks
Anybody is welcome at our walks and events, though we are targeted towards those in their 40s and 50s. The Hampshire 40+ group was founded in July 2010 from the original Hampshire 20s & 30s group (est. 2002) and the groups still maintain close links. Currently we have over 180 members.
Please come along to any walk and try us out for free – you will need to join The Ramblers to become a full member if you enjoy your first couple of walks and would like to continue.
